“Why are you urging me with untiring importunity? You cannot force things on me. Please! Just leave me alone!
Wow! That was a slap on my face Tony! You slapped me! Damn! This is sad, you get physical with me each time we argue. No! This has to stop, I cannot take this anymore. I am your wife, not your sparring partner.”
For real! I was lost in my thoughts and swimming in the ocean of my past. Humn! It has been a great battle between my past and my present. The clips stuck in my brain and occupied my mind. Unfortunately, this can make me be who I was not.
Yeah! You cannot expect all your journey to be smooth, there must be some bumps and obstacles. Some obstacles can make you be just like them. The burdens you carried then can affect your look, your posture, and your mind.
This is what I have come to know; our sensory organs control our lives. Your eyes will always remind your brain of what has been seen. Your ears will keep playing back what has been heard. All these come to play a role in our minds. The Holy book even says man is what he thinks in his mind (proverb 23:7). The mind will play you, not wanting you to let go of the past. When you keep thinking of that terrible past, it builds you a monster that will continue to haunt your decision and peace.
Let each day be a new one in your life. Stay positive in your mind. Visualize successful things, put all your positive energy into your present, and believe things will turn out right this time. Remember! What you think in your mind will reflect on your face then it will express itself in your behavior, and finally will be the character that defines who you are for the rest of your life unless you make a pragmatic effort for change.
